webPalette

A browser-safe color palette for Frontier

You can get webPalette from the Downloads page. This is a Macintosh only utility, since Macbird was not ported to Windows

[Why I Wrote It]
Because I'm experimenting with MacBird. It's actually the first step of a much larger project.

[What It Does]
This MacBird card lets you select 'browser-safe' colors and paste them directly into any Frontier object.

[How to Use It]
It's easy!
Activate the card by selecting the 'Web Palette...' command.
Choose a color from the card.
The color you choose will show in the bottom half of the card. The proper RGB triplet (for use in HTML tags) will be loaded into the clipboard. Pressing the "Paste" button will paste it into the frontmost window behind the card, if possible. If you hold down the shift key while you press 'Paste', the RGB triplet will be inserted enclosed in quotes.
Or you can leave the card and select a window or table cell and paste it in manually (Cmd-V). That's it!

[Be Careful]
Using this card will overwrite anything in the clipboard.

[Notes]
Oh, this project got hung up for a long time, because of a bug in mouse.location(). Doug confirmed this bug and said he hopes to fix it in Frontier 5.0. (Note: it's been fixed!)
John Delacour provided the workaround. Call window.frontmost() directly before calling mouse.location().
