The Bay Area Frontier Users Group will be having its second meeting this Wednesday, August 24th, at the offices of Organic Online in San Francisco.
Automating HTML
The topic for this month is Automating HTML--getting Frontier to generate all those little bits of code, from HTML to Javascript and CSS, as well as talking about how Frontier puts pages together.
Towards that end, we'll be having a couple presentations from Bay Area Frontier specialists.
- Javascript Demonstration
Tom Clifton will be presenting his work with Javascripts in Frontier. Tom is an experienced scripter who is especially strong with CGI programming and Javascript. He runs ES-Designs, a consultancy that provides web-based solutions for geoscientists.
- HALO HTML Renderer Demonstration
Brian Andresen of Technology Solutions will demo his innovative HALO HTML renderer. Brian is the also the author of blox, an xml parser for Frontier.
If there is time, I'll try to present a visual guide to the Frontier HTML renderer, with perhaps a short discussion of using the #pageheader directive.
As always, there'll be time to mingle and ask questions. We're going to try to do something for snacks during the meeting.
